Finances and Health Insurance

If you usually receive health insurance through your job but have lost it or had your hours reduced such that it affects your health coverage, you may be eligible for COBRA for a temporary continuation of coverage. The Affordable Care Act allows anyone who has lost their job and job-based health insurance to sign up for coverage on the Health Insurance Exchange. Utilities, including water, heat, electricity, and internet are considered essential services and will remain operational during the crisis. Contact your utility company if you need assistance or are delayed in paying your bills.

Credit cards often have assistance programs for crisis situations. Call the number on your credit card to see if fees or payments might be waived or suspended during the pandemic.
